About Susanna

From a very early age, I have been comfortable with spirits being around me and comfortable with the idea of death. I understand death and I understand that death is simply a continuation of life. We never die. Death, being the great healer, is the core essence of what my readings are all about—emotional understanding and healing.

My readings come from the soul, which I believe sets me apart—soul readings. Being born into mediumship doesn’t mean I haven’t had to work at developing my abilities. It has taken me a lifetime to be where I am today; because I have allowed my intuition and instincts to guide me, I consider myself self-taught.

While many mediums are good technically, they often miss the opportunity to offer deeper meaning and healing by diving into the emotions of the deceased and the client. By connecting emotionally with the deceased and allowing my readings to be on an emotional level, I offer people an understanding of death and the gift deceased beings are giving them.

I am able to do this because I also understand I must be able to give myself up to the deceased during a reading. I am willing to give myself up, to set myself aside, so the deceased can run the show for an hour or two. Most mediums are not willing, or don’t know how to completely set themselves aside to become a clear energetic vessel. It has taken me many years to understand, cultivate, and create my specialized way of communicating with spirit and interpreting their messages.

My ability to let myself go takes an incredible amount of trust and faith in who I am and in the deceased, also. I do not believe in demons or negative spirits, and through many decades of living and being open to the unseen, I have never come across any being wishing to do me or anyone else harm.

In 2003, my wandering led me to the upper region of the Amazon in Peru for the purpose of working with Don Agustin Rivas Vazques, a nationally and internationally known shaman and wood sculptor. His compound, Yushin Taita, is in the small town of Tamshiyacu on the shore of the Amazon River. I participated in authentic shamanic healings that have been passed down from generation to generation for thousands of years in Amazonian Peru, Ecuador, Bolivia, and Western Brazil.

In 2006, my interest in indigenous shamanism took me to Tuva, an independent state in the southernmost part of Russia along the Mongolian border, also known as “The Land of the Shamans.”  Our small group worked with numerous shamans during the course of several weeks learning their culture, ancestral roots, and ceremonies that came close to near extinction during Soviet times. I participated in the Montana Naraya – A First Peoples “Dance For All People” and a “Four Winds” gathering in Finland.

In March of 2017, I attended a Carl Jung conference at the Glenstal Abby in Ireland on Pride and Shame. This conference gave me many insights on important and liberating subjects that can be discussed when one is reflecting on their meaning and place in life.

My certification as an End-of-Life Doula is with INELDA – International End of Life Doula Association, an organization that offers a comprehensive program establishing a professional-level standard for this field. As well as a medium, I am an educator, speaker, pain and palliative massage therapist, end-of-life doula, and a hospice volunteer.

Mediumship goes hand in hand with my work as a death doula and enhances my work in alternative healing practices, death, and grief. Understanding different cultural beliefs has further cultivated my skills in listening, guiding, supporting, and comforting the grieving and those facing end-of-life.
